A source of power and politics, a physical force, a measure of entropy, and the foundation of all modern communication systems, Information is as enigmatic as it is practical. On a conceptual level Information remains misunderstood in art production and critical discourse, and on an engineering level it is often too narrowly adopted as little more than a tool in technology production and computer science.

How can we expand upon and renegotiate descriptions of Information across art and technology practices?

Is there an aesthetics of Information?

Can it exist on its own as a material, or must it always be encoded in another medium?
